In 1968 student demonstrations in Mexico City were labeled as communist agitators and the government then massacred them. This occurred only months after this massacre in which the corrupt village priest whips the town up into a panic, saying that communist students would be coming to the village to kill him and burn down the church. Therefore, when the villagers learn that these four young university workers are in town for the weekend, they label them as communist students and brutally lynch them.
The film is very important in the history of Mexican cinema.
See it!
